Hometown: Kaneʻohe, Hawaiʻi

Dental School: University of Washington

Fun Fact: Dr. Johnson wrestled throughout high school and college.  He even helped start the wrestling club at UW.

Dr. Johnson

Dr. Andrew Johnson was born and raised in Kāneʻohe, Hawaiʻi. His passion for dentistry was sparked while working as an assistant to his orthodontist, who was also his “young time” Judo Sensei. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from James B. Castle High School where he was active in both wrestling and judo and was named Scholar Athlete of the year.

 

After High School, Dr. Johnson attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. He earned the NCAA Division III NWCA Scholar All-America award in wrestling, and his B.A. in Chemistry. Dr. Johnson then attended and received his D.D.S. from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He enjoyed the Pacific Northwest and was happy to spend those years closer to his Hawai’i friends and family.

 

After dental school Dr. Johnson completed a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry through New York University. The N.Y.U. Brooklyn Langone residency was held locally at Kokua Kalihi Valley and provided training in many advanced cases. Cases that are normally seen by dental specialists.

 

This training has given him experience in procedures such as surgical wisdom teeth extractions, difficult molar root canal therapy, gum surgery, dentures, implant restorations, crown and bridge work, as well as day-to-day cleanings and fillings. Dr. Johnson additionally enjoys simple orthodontic cases; the kindling to his passion for all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Johnson completed his training in 2018 and has been proudly serving our entire 'Oahu community ever since.

 

When not at the office, Dr. Johnson spends his time helping his wife, Riho, to take care of their adorable daughters. He additionally makes an effort to give back to the community by coaching wrestling.

 

Dr. Johnson prides himself in his ability to tailor treatments to your wants and needs and looks forward to working together with you to build a lasting relationship.

Dental School: Tufts University

Fun Fact: Dr. Sato enjoys golfing in his free time.

Dr. Sato

Dr. Kent Sato was raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i and graduated from Iolani School.

He first attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California and later graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. He then attended Tufts School of Dentistry in Boston, Massachusetts.

Upon returning to Hawaii, he spent a year in a general practice residency at the St. Francis Hospital Dental Clinic. Since 1983, he has been practicing dentistry at the present location.

Dr. Sato is married with 2 children and 2 grandchildren. His interests include exercising, golfing, bible study, watching sporting events and family time.

Hometown: Mililani, Hawaiʻi

Dental School: University of Southern California

Fun Fact: Dr. Koochi has completed the Honolulu Marathon twice (and counting)

Dr. Koochi

Dr. Nicole Koochi was born and raised in Mililani, Hawaii. She graduated from Maryknoll School before going to Omaha, Nebraska, where she received her Bachelors in Biology from Creighton University.

Dr. Koochi went on to obtain her Master's degree in Biomedical Science from Regis University in Denver, Colorado before earning her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the University of Southern
California.

 

Dr. Koochi then returned home to complete a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. The residency, through N.Y.U. Brooklyn Langone, was held at Waimanalo Health Center, and gave Dr. Koochi experience and training in performing advanced dental procedures, typically seen by dental specialists. Her advanced training included procedures such as surgical tooth extractions, difficult root canal therapies, denture fabrication, implant restorations, crown and bridge work, cleanings and fillings.

 

After completing her residency, Dr. Koochi continues to serve the Windward community by remaining at Waimanalo Health Center as a full-time dentist.

Dr. Koochi is excited to be expanding her services to Honolulu at Niko Niko Family Dentistry, and is grateful for this opportunity to work alongside patients to provide them treatment options to best fit their needs.


Dr. Koochi is committed to achieving excellence in patient care through her passion for learning and self-improvement. In her free time, she enjoys staying active through regular exercise, having completed two Honolulu marathons. She also enjoys traveling the world, snowboarding and playing with her two chocolate Labradors.
